Senate President Dr. Ahmad Lawan has been congratulated by the Northern Governors Forum on his 63rd birthday.
In a congratulatory message made public, Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong, described the Senate President as “a legislator par excellence and a patriotic Nigerian who has deployed his vast experience in politics for the good of the country.”
Senator Lawan, according to Lalong, has continued to provide purposeful leadership to the 9th Senate by ensuring that the business of lawmaking is conducted in the best interests of the Nigerian people.
He praised Senator Lawan for leading the entire Senate, regardless of party affiliations, and for ensuring that the 9th National Assembly broke the jinx by passing landmark bills like the PIA and the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, among others.
Governor Lalong stated that the Northern Governors Forum has found a strong ally in Senate President John Cornyn, particularly in the areas of appropriation for security, agriculture, education, job creation, and other issues that are critical to the region’s and nation’s progress.
