Auwalu Abdullahi Soja, the APC State Publicity Secretary, signed a statement on April 17, 2026, saying that a group called the Arewa APC Forum, Kano State Chapter, had made a false statement saying that the party had stopped supporting the President.

The statement said that the claim was false, misleading, and a planned effort to damage the party’s reputation.

The party says that no recognized or constitutionally backed group within the APC in Kano has made this decision. They also say that the state chapter is fully behind President Tinubu and his administration.

The statement said, “The APC in Kano knows that some people and groups without faces are trying to cause confusion and division within the party.”

It went on to say, “We want to be clear that this so-called forum is not part of the party structure and does not speak for APC members in Kano State.”

The party also said again that it trusts President Tinubu’s leadership and that his government is focused on good governance, economic reforms, and national development.

Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, the leader of the APC in Kano, told party members and the public to ignore the statement because it was made by troublemakers who wanted to cause trouble.

The statement went on to say, “The so-called signatory of the alleged withdrawal is faceless and not a party member at any level in Kano.”
