A number of new candidates for appointment as non-career ambassadors have been proposed by President Bola Tinubu.

Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, the former naval chief and immediate past sole administrator of Rivers State, is among those on the list, according to a statement released by the State House on Thursday.

Other former senators include Ita Enang, Chioma Ohakim, the first lady of Imo State, and Abdulrahman Dambazau, the former interior minister and head of army command.

Senators Jimoh Ibrahim, Nora Daduut, and Fatima Ajimobi were also nominated by the President to serve as non-career ambassadors.

According to reports, President Tinubu has nominated 68 people for appointment as ambassadors thus far.
