The Nigerian Army was accused by the Abia State High Court of attempting to “terminate” Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
The Nigerian Army set out as “pythons” to take Kanu’s life, according to Justice Benson Anya.
Remember that the Nigerian Army invaded Kanu’s home in Afaraukwu, Abia State, in 2017.
In the same year, an Abuja Federal High Court judge, Justice Binta Nyako, granted the IPOB leader bail.
The IPOB leader had fled to Europe after the invasion.

However, the IPOB leader had filed a fundamental human rights suit against the Nigerian government through his Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor.
Kanu asked the court to declare the Nigerian government’s invasion of his home as illegal and an infringement of his fundamental human rights, among other things.
In his decision on the case, the judge described the Nigerian Army’s actions as “notorious,” implying that the Nigerian government should apologize.
Kanu’s Special Counsel made the judge’s decision public via a tweet on Friday.
“This court believes that the Army set out like pythons to TERMINATE Nnamdi Kanu’s life. The military invasion of his home in Afaraukwu Ibeku is so well-known that this Court cannot overlook it. “He is entitled to an apology and restitution,” Justice Benson Anya said.
