Security officers reportedly battled with demonstrators and supporters of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Monday, escalating tensions at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) offices in Abuja.

It was stated that tear gas was used to scatter the crowd.
“We will come back; when it clears, we will come back,” said a variety of protestors in a video that our reporter referenced, indicating the group’s will to return in spite of the disturbance.
Following news of his attempted arrest at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport last Thursday, El-Rufai had previously driven hundreds of his supporters to the EFCC’s grounds.
