Troops on Operation SAVANNAH SHIELD have arrested two people they think are terrorists while patrolling the Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
Zagazola Makama, an expert on counterinsurgency and security in the Lake Chad area, said this in a post on X.
Makama said that the troops stationed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Babanna caught the suspects at Babanna Market around 5:00 p.m. on April 20.
He said that the suspects had one round of 7.62mm special ammunition, two cell phones, and other random items in their possession.
The security expert also said that the suspects are now in military custody for more investigation and any necessary action.
Makama said, “The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to stop terrorist activities and make the whole region safer.”
