PRESS RELEASE: AAU Management Constitutes Administrative Panel To Look Into The Activities Of The Revenue Yielding Properties Committee For The Past Two Years.

Sequel to the alledged money swindling act of 43m committed by the former revenue generating unit head Dr. Austin Aghemelo, The University management had directed a five man panel at its meeting on Thursday 24th February, 2022 to look into the activities of the revenue yeilding properties committee in the last 2 years.
The Administrative 5 man panel includes: Prof. A.O Onigbinde, Dept. Of Biochemistry ( Chairman of the committee), Mr. Peter Agbidion, Busary (Member), Mrs. O.O Obaitan, Bursary (Member) , Mrs. Favour Ehimare, Audit ( Member) and Mrs. F.O Omoigui, PAR, Student Affairs Division (Member).
These administrative panel have been given a seven point terms of reference to ascertain all the revenue generating units in the university, to determine the expected revenue, the actual revenue collected which should include the variance for the period under review from all revenue yeiding properties in the university.
Also, there is a reference to look into the activities of the officers involved in the financial oversee of the committee and their roles in the variance observed , if any.. as well as the various methods of revenue collection by the committee , to know if due process has been followed in the collection acknowledgement remittances of the funds, during the period under review.
Other references further includes other matters relevant to the issue at hand which has not been covered by the aforementioned reference and making of appropriate recommendations.
The University Management at this stance , stated that the committee is expected to submit its report to the Acting Vice Chancellor within two weeks of investigation commencement.
