Dr. Doyin Salami has been named President Buhari’s Chief Economic Advisor (CEAP).

This is the first appointment of a Chief Economic Adviser for President Buhari since he took office on May 29, 2015.

Chairman of the Presidential Economic Advisory Council until his recent appointment, Dr Salami was the President’s Media Advisor, Femi Adesina said on Tuesday (PEAC).

Salami, 59, was Managing Director and Head Markets Practice at KAINOS Edge Consulting Limited, and Adjunct Faculty at Lagos Business School (LBS), Pan-Atlantic University, where he recently achieved the rank of Senior Fellow/Associate Professor.

The Chief Economic Adviser to the President is expected to address all domestic economic issues, present views to the president, and develop appropriate policy responses.
