The kidnapping of around 20 people by bandits in Unguwan Gimbiya, Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been confirmed by the police.
According to Mohammed Jalige, the state’s police spokesperson, the assault took place in the early hours of Friday.
Before security officers arrived, the bandits invaded the village around 1 a.m., killing two persons and abducting 20 inhabitants, according to Mr Jalige.

“A joint security team has initiated a manhunt for the kidnappers in the hopes of rescuing the kidnapped victims and apprehending the culprits.”
Mr. Jalige did not respond to queries requesting additional information about the situation.
Meanwhile, a local neighbor who talked with verified the attack.
“I can’t say how many people were taken at the moment,” Gyara Guga stated, “but the criminals assaulted many residences in the vicinity.”
Unguwar Gimbiya is located in Sabon Tasha, a Kaduna suburb. Terrorist assaults have occurred in several communities in the vicinity, including Juji, Kakau Daji, and Unguwar Ayaba.
In October, nearly 70 attendees at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kakau Daji were kidnapped. Two people were later found dead.

The most recent bandit attacks and kidnappings in the state have occurred in Chikun, Giwa, and Birnin Gwari.
