Nigerian police have attacked the actions of an unidentified female policewoman carrying the handbag of Titi, the wife of People’s Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

Mrs Abubakar unveiled a women-focused initiative in Abuja on Wednesday and her husband shared photos from the event, which show her standing with a handbag behind her.

When a tweet brought the incident to police attention, a spokesperson for the Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, faulted the action of the policewoman and said appropriate sanctions would be meted out.
