When a 16-year-old chorister arrived to church for choir practice, Peter Taiwo, a self-proclaimed pastor of Christ Apostolic Bible Church, Alaja Oke, Saje, Abeokuta, allegedly defiled her.
The pastor’s wife, Elizabeth Taiwo, is said to have assisted him by locking the teenager up in the same room as her husband.

The reason for the woman’s involvement has baffled locals, who wonder why a wife would assist her husband in rapping a victim.
However, while being investigated by the police, the pair confessed to the crime, claiming it was the work of the devil.
On Sunday, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), verified the event, stating the culprits were apprehended on Friday, December 10.
“While she was going to the church for choir practice, the pastor’s wife contacted her and ordered her to go and see the pastor in their room, stating the pastor wanted to send her on an errand,” Oyeyemi recounted.
“She also alleged that the pastor’s wife shut the door from the outside as soon as she entered the room, causing the pastor to overpower her and forcefully have sex with her.”
The pastor’s wife entered the room after her husband had already defiled the victim, according to Oyeyemi.
“She met her crying and ordered her to stop crying because she was now a woman,” she said, adding that she should “never tell anyone or she would die.”
SP Salaudeen Abiodun, the DPO of Adatan division, had dispatched his detectives to the location to apprehend the preacher and his wife.
“During questioning, the pair admitted to the crime but blamed it on the devil. “They also begged the victim’s forgiveness,” the PPRO added.
