Claims that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) denied Ushie Rita Uguamaye (state code LA/24B/8325) her Certificate of National Service (CNS) due to suspected anti-government statements have been rejected.
In a statement published on its official page, the NYSC insisted that the decision was made for legitimate disciplinary reasons in accordance with its bye-laws and called the accusation “entirely unfounded and false in its entirety.”
The NYSC claims that Ms. Ushie is among the 131 corps members whose certificates were revoked due to a variety of violations. She missed the biometric clearance exercise in April 2025, which resulted in a two-month extension of her service year.
The NYSC Management would want to address false information that has been making the rounds on social media about Corps Member Ushie Rita Uguamaye, State Code number LA/24B/8325, according to the statement. False assertions that she was refused a Certificate of National Service (CNS) because she made derogatory statements about the government are completely untrue and incorrect.

131 Corps Members had their Certificates of National Service (CNS) revoked for legitimate disciplinary reasons, including Rita. In accordance with the NYSC Bye-Laws, Rita’s service year has been extended by two months specifically because she was unable to attend the biometrics clearing in April 2025.
The equal treatment principle was only used in this instance, and it is crucial to remember that this extension is a routine process and not specific to her case.
Since prolonging service for non-compliance is a traditional NYSC practice and shouldn’t be politicized, the NYSC Management therefore asks the public to treat this issue rationally.
