A notorious scammer, Abubakar Mayaki Suleiman, may have landed in trouble with serious upcoming legal battles after he allegedly swindled innocent landowners of millions of Naira under the false pretence of procuring land allocation from the Lagos State Government using the name of the Commissioner for Waterfront, Mr. Kabir Ahmed, which turned out to be a scam.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that security agents are now looking for Suleiman, who was said to have gone into hiding over the alleged fraud.

The suspect, Mayaki, who hails from Bida, Niger State, claimed to be untouchable because he knows the Presidency, former Inspector General of Police, IGP Idris and top Lagos State Government officials including the  Commissioner of Waterfront, Mr  Ahmed.

He is also said to always go about with sophisticated guns and shoots indiscriminately in the sites at Ibeju Lekki and obtains money from landowners. It was not confirmed if the guns he uses were approved for his use by the top government officials he claimed to be working with.

Mayaki has landed in trouble as the security agents are now after him for having reportedly obtained $40,000 USD from a businessman, Kenny, under the false pretence of facilitating to procure land allocation through the Commissioner of Waterfront, Mr Ahmed.

However, having obtained the money, he absconded and did not get the allocation as he had promised to do and did not make any contact with the Lagos State Government officials.

In a letter sighted by P.M.EXPRESS, sent to Mayaki dated 11th January, 2022, by a legal practitioner, Barrister Elvis Iyamu, captioned “Demand to Refund 40,000 Dollars”, the lawyer wrote :
That you, Mayaki, whose address is located at 107 Ogudu Road, Ojota, Lagos, on Sunday 2nd May 2021, demanded and received 40,000 dollars from our client at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, claiming to be acting on the instruction and on behalf of the Commissioner for Waterfront, Mr Kabir Ahmed. That the money was needed to help facilitate the process of land allocation letter from Lagos State Government through Ahmed within two weeks.”

“However, findings showed you were not acting on behalf of the Commissioner, Ahmed, as you claimed, and your claims were false because you did not procure any letter for our client land situated at Ibeju Lekki.”

“Consequently, you obtained the money using the Commissioner’s name which amounted to fraud.”

When P.M.EXPRESS contacted the suspect, Mayaki, on his known mobile phone number 08033414901, his phone rang, but he did not pick his calls. However, it was learnt he claimed to know high profile people in the Presidency, the Police and top Government officials and he can do whatever he likes because his contacts will protect him no matter what.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the victim reportedly fell into Suleiman’s trap when a notorious company, known as Urban Shelter, allegedly invaded a community known as Amisu in Idi-Orogbo area of Ibeji Lekki, Lagos, for land grabbing.
When the company was repelled and sent away from the victim’s parcel of land, Suleiman suggested to the victim to bring the said money for him to go to the Lagos State Government through the Commissioner, Ahmed, in order to secure the allocation, which will solve the issue of land grabbers in the site.

The victim believed him and gave out the money but he did not fulfill his promise of bringing the allocation or returning the money, which is now going to lead to heavy criminal legal battle in the Court of Law.
