Nasir El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State, has warned that Nigeria is being targeted for destruction by a group of urban criminals.
He mentioned this in an interview with Arise News on Monday evening. El-Rufai believes the anti-Tinubu coalition is aiming for a specific target and is encouraged by the leadership’s stance.

The former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory stated that no coalition leaders are currently discussing his aspirations.

He went on: “Well, I’m sure they would [talk about aspiration later] I mean, we are politicians, we are students of power.” So, certainly, they will do that, but no one is talking about, ‘I want to be president or, you know, leave this for me’ and so on.

Everybody is saying, “We have a problem.” A group of urban bandits has set out to destroy this country. Let us come together, send them home, and get this country back on track.

“It’s about fixing the country. Nobody is talking about his ambition, which has been extremely good thus far. And I am encouraged.”

El-Rufai, a prominent person who supported and pushed for Tinubu’s election as president in 2023, has left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Tin
