NEMA recovers 2 male bodies as 7 Storey building collapses in Lagos

Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA in Lagos have recovered the bodies of two male following a -7- storey building that collapsed in Lagos.


NEMA spokesperson Ibrahim Farinloye who is yet to reveal the identities of the deceased said four persons are still trapped and rescue operation is on going. He said ” A- 7 storey building collapsed at Oba Idowu Oniru street by Avi Maria hospital close to Sandfield bus stop, Lekki. Six people are said to be trapped, LASEMA and police are on ground. The building is under construction. Two male bodies recovered now”.

This is coming barely twenty four hours, a tanker laden with about 45,000 litres of PMS crashed, spilled its content and exploded at Olambe matogun road ifo LGA Ogun State.
Mr . Farinlonye said ” Though, no live was lost or anyone sustained injury, about 10 buildings were consumed in the incident.The situation was mitigated with most of the content spilling into the canal close to the scene thereby saved the community from serious incident that could have affected people.
