Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu launched the N500 billion Produce For Lagos Off-Take Guarantee Fund on Wednesday in an effort to guarantee the availability, affordability, and security of food in the state.

Tolu Elemelu, the chairman of Heir Holdings and the Elumelu Foundation, also contributed ₦25 billion to the project.

This event marks the “launch of a bold history-shaping intervention,” according to Bisola Olusanya, Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, which aims to rewire the food chain, reconnect rural abandon with urban demand, and reward all stakeholders in the food systems value chain.
