According to President Muhammadu Buhari, he is disappointed with the intelligence system’s performance and application at the Abuja facility’s Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje, which was attacked by terrorists on Tuesday night.
President Buhari expressed his emotions to reporters during his visit to the prison on Wednesday for an assessment tour following the attack, according to a tweet posted on his official Twitter account.

Message from President Muhammadu Buhari In a tweet, President Buhari expressed his sadness over the attack on the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Center. I’m not happy with the intelligence apparatus. How are terrorists able to plan an attack, obtain weapons, target a security installation, and escape punishment? A thorough report on this shocking incident is something I’m hoping for.

The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Shuaib Belgore, and the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Haliru Nababa, briefed the President about the attack shortly after he arrived at the facility.

Both men informed President Buhari of the bombed-out area and the records office’s burning destruction, adding that the invaders then attacked every cell housing Boko Haram terrorists.

After the terrorist attack, Buhari was informed that none of the approximately 64 Boko Haram terrorists had been found.

The President was also informed that urgent efforts were being made to quickly apprehend the remaining 450 escapees, while 350 had already been captured by security forces.
President Buhari, like most Nigerians, was shocked by the scope and audacity of the attack, according to Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity.

He claimed that the president questioned, “How did the prison’s defences fail to stop the attack? How many prisoners were housed there? How many of them are you able to identify?

How many employees were on duty? How many of them had weapons? On the watchtower, did guards stand watch? How did they act? Does the CCTV function?
