During a fighting patrol near OdoapeāAdankolo Forest in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Kogi State, troops of 12 Brigade killed a suspected terrorist.
Zagazola Makama, a security and counter-insurgency specialist in the Lake Chad area, revealed this in a post on X.
According to the source, the patrol squad came into contact with the escaping suspect on March 23, 2026, at around 1400 hours.
Makama said that an initial inquiry revealed the neutralized person to be a well-known terrorist who supplied logs to terrorist organizations, rustled cattle, and provided intelligence and targets for kidnappings.
The source stated, “The military has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining aggressive patrols and intelligence-led operations to curb criminal activities and protect residents in the area.”
Recall that Kogi State has recently turned into a hotbed of banditry activity, resulting in the kidnapping of numerous locals and the deaths of others.
