In the Oke Ijebu neighborhood of Akure, the capital of Ondo State, a nocturnal attack on a health center reportedly resulted in the kidnapping of no fewer than six health personnel.
Witnesses said that the attackers arrived on a bus at around two in the morning and forced their way into the building across from Mega School.
All on-duty employees, including interns, were allegedly collected up by the gunmen and transported to an undisclosed location in the waiting vehicle.
Despite being clearly frightened by the experience, patients undergoing treatment at the time of the incident were allegedly uninjured.
In order to ensure the safe release of the kidnapped health professionals and stop future attacks, locals expressed their profound concern over the occurrence, calling it frightening and calling for security services to act immediately.
Official statements about the incident have not yet been released by the authorities as of the time of reporting.
