In order to preserve sanity in the legal profession, Okonkwo, a politician and attorney, has urged the judiciary to firmly follow its ethics and punish any of its members who make mistakes.
When Okonkwo appeared in an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday, he made this statement.
He stated that judges should receive training, pointing out that it is necessary for them to be up to date on the latest information.
“Once more, punishment is necessary. Evil behavior will continue if you do nothing to stop it. An abomination turns into a culture if it is permitted to continue for up to a year.
It will be challenging for the bench members to preserve their independence and impartiality as we go into a position where it is becoming cultural for them to freely associate, attend parties, and interact with people from all over the world.
Every profession has its own ethics and characteristics. In order to discourage others, the bench members must uphold their own moral principles and be prepared to discipline any antisocial behavior among themselves, according to Okonkwo.
