The Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission (KTSIEC) has set the date for the state’s Local Government Election for 11 April 2022.

On Tuesday, KTSIEC Chairman Ibrahim Bako made the announcement while speaking to journalists at the commission.

“It is my pleasure to officially announce that the Local Government Councils Election in the State will be held on Monday, April 11th, 2022,” Bako said.

The KTSIEC Chairman, on the other hand, stated that the announcement is effective from January 11th to April 11th, 2022, and that it is being made with ninety days (90) notice in accordance with the Electoral Act 2010 as amended.”

Bako advised all stakeholders to strictly follow the laws and guidelines governing the conduct of the state’s Local Government Council.

He also stated that the “election guidelines and schedule will be distributed to all and sundry in due time.”
