With Jordan and Uzbekistan creating history by making it to the world championship for the first time, at least ten nations have already purchased tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite being held to a goalless draw by the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, Uzbekistan managed to earn their spot. With one game remaining in the Asian qualifications, the outcome was sufficient to place them second in Group A, behind Iran.
South Korea further solidified their position as a dominant force in Asian football by confirming their 11th consecutive World Cup appearance.
The three countries—South Korea, Uzbekistan, and Jordan—join a growing list of nations that have confirmed their participation, which also includes Argentina, the defending world champions, Japan, and New Zealand.
Keep in mind that the United States, Canada, and Mexico, who are co-hosts of the tournament, have already earned the right to host.
The competition for the remaining spots is still ongoing, while six of the automatic slots for Asia have already been filled.

The next qualification round has been reached by the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, who will place third and fourth in their respective groups. They will compete for two more World Cup slots there with four other teams.
The United States, Canada, and Mexico will co-host the 2026 World Cup, which will have 48 teams and provide fresh chances for countries to compete on the biggest platform in sports.
