The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) declared on Tuesday that the investigation into Oladapo Daniel Oyebanj, better known by his stage name D’Banj, for allegedly misappropriating money from the federal government’s N-Power program “will be extensive and also be extended to other collaborators.”

D’Banj “is now assisting the investigators to uncover the circumstances of the fraud claims by the petitioners,” the ICPC spokesperson stated in a statement addressed to Mrs. Azuka Ogugua.

Remember that the commission detained the musician on Tuesday, a few weeks after the 41-year-old was called in.

For allegedly stealing money intended for the federal government’s N-Power initiative, D’banj is under investigation.

“In accordance with its mandate, the Commission had received several petitions regarding the misappropriation of N-Power monies totaling billions of naira after the Federal Government approved and released such payments to the recipients. According to the ICPC statement, “many N-Power beneficiaries have complained about not receiving the monthly cash despite the Government paying for them.
