Engr. Dr.Valentine Oluwaseyi Buraimoh welcomes the Gov. Of Lagos State, Mr.Babajide Sanwo-Olu To The Commissioning Of The Ultramodern Senator Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu Primary Health Care Centre in Amuwo Odofin.

Amuwo odofin Council was evolved with a barrage of guest and APC party members as they warmly receive the Gov. Of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu alongside his Deputy, Dr.Obafemi Hamzat respectively to an August event put together by the Executive Chairman Hon.Valentine Braimoh and his council.

This event was put together to commission Senator. Oluremi Tinubu Primary Health Care Centre in Amuwo Odofin, amongst other completed projects embarked on during Engr. Dr. Buraimoh’s first and second tenure in office.

A highly commendable effort which attracted Dignitaries, Royal Fathers, Traditional Rulers , Clergy men amongst other attendees of the event which took place on the 9th February, 2022 at the council secretariat.

This notable achievement is an initiative meant to give the people of Amuwo Odofin a good footing when it comes to health care services.

A speech was made by the chairman of Ori Ade lcda …Hon. Remota Akinola Hassan as she expressed gratitude as regards the honor accorded to Amuwo Odofin residents by Sanwo-Olu’s attendance , to spear head the commissioning of the newly built ultramodern Health Care Centre in Amuwo-Odofin.

She further talked about the journey so far recounting the achievements established in Amuwo Odofin LGA, as she reigns praises in appreciation of the Governor.

Hon. Ramota analysed those areas which the Lagos state Govt needs to take note of….This includes rebuilding of the police station demolished during the end sars crisis as well as the reconstruction of bad roads that had gotten worse over time amongst other needs she enumerated. She finalised her speech by showing her support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a great leader and the chosen one to take Nigeria to the next level come 2023.

Hon. Wale Rauf representing Amuwo Odofin Constituency 2, at the Lagos state House of Assembly in the same vein also showed appreciate to the Governor for his humility and timely response in constructing some roads in Amuwo Odofin as he further pleads that other pending constructions be attended to.

HRM. Oba Mobadele Oyekan welcomed the Gov. To Amuwo Odofin, a place of peace and Harmony… thanking him for helping to develop Amuwo Odofin to what it is now and also commending the effort of the Executive Chairman who has remained resilient in discharging his duties efficiently to the people of Amuwo.

Oba of Ikare Kingdom also had a few words to say as he appreciates Mr. Babajide’s presence as he uses the medium of the event to express the concerns and needs of the people of the riverine areas.

Speaking with Hon. Valentine Braimoh, he emphasized that the project achieved has been a pending one for over 40yrs, noting that his predecessors had all come and gone, while the health centre remains same and seems more of a call for concern, until he decided to take a bold step to make a difference as well as a land mark during his tenure by building a health Centre in Amuwo Odofin, a dream made reality… A health care centre with a state of the art equipment as well as a stable power supply to see to the smooth running of the services to be rendered.

A Good will message was given by the CDC Chairman , a former NUJ chairman, Comrade Jola Ogunusi, thanking the Gov for helping they are increasing in infrastruction and development, improve on the roads and rehabilitation. There were also other short speeches made by The Former House of Representative speaker amongst other notable Dignitaries in attendance.

The Executive Chairman Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area, Engr. Dr. Valentine Oluwaseyi Buraimoh gave a speech unbehalf of his legislative arm, the Management team and the good people of Amuwo Odofin to welcome the Governor as well as expresses his fulfilment in the commissioning of the 2- storey building ultramodern Primary Health Center named After Senator Mrs.Oluremi Tinubu (OON).

He went on to give references from the bible stating that slow and steady wins the race which includes patience as a driving force, a force which had led him to the completion of a project such as this.

Engr. Dr. Valentine mentioned that the project had lingered in the wait for a total rehabilitation in the space of 40yrs . Having started in building the PHC in 2020, Hon. Valentine is delighted to fulfil its completion in his 2nd tenure as a serving chairman, he was able to bring his vision to accomplishment by rebuilding to make it an ultramodern state of the Art Health Care Centre.

This health care centre is to be used as a mini General hospital which will serve patients from Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Oriade, Ojo, and Iba Local Government and LCDAs respectively. Capable hands which includes well qualified Medical Doctors and nurses as well as good medical equipments have been put in place for the smooth running of the PHC centre Hon. Oluwaseyi quipped.

The ultramodern PHC has several departments which includes:Male and Female Wards, Delivery/Labour Ward ,Laboratory Diagnostic hub,Mini-Theater, Tuberculosis/HIV screening rooms, Consulting rooms, Nurses/Doctors rest/changing rooms,Medical records point.

Engr. Dr. Valentine also stated that the The PHC is named after Senator Oluremi Tinubu in recognition of her exemplary contributions to Child development and her several children oriented programmes and initiatives she put in place during the times she was the first lady of Lagos and her better half, the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was the governor of Lagos State.

He noted that his administration has been purpose driven and as such , there has been a record of successes in projects embarked over the time as a sitting chairman which also includes: Giving teaching aids to schools a well as the construction of 119 classrooms, rehabilitated and constructed major connecting roads across the LG, constructed administrative office personnels in Abule-Ado Area as an area office, built 20,000 liters per day capacity water system at the reverine communities, renovated existing PHCs across the Local Government. Transformed the markets into ultramodern edifices, particularly the 23 road market which will be commissioned soon, procured utility vehicles for the Nigerian police, and monetary assistance for contingencies on a monthly basis, engaging of the youths productively to discourage idleness. Skill acquisition programmes that has trained over twenty thousand youths and also created a channel to adopt some of the youths as revenue officers. Our approach to keep our youths busy is why Amuwo-Odofin is peaceful and secured. We take pride in the fact that rather than join the carnage that was visited on the state in 2020 endsars saga, youths in Amuwo-Odofin chose to defend and protect their communities by collaborating with security agencies against hoodlums from neighboring communities. He proudly recounted that during the end sars period Amuwo Odofin LG was amongst the few local government in Nigeria that remained peaceful during the troublesome period.

On a final note he thanked the Governor for his Support especially during the Covid 19 pandemic when the country was tensed with situations.

Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the chief guest of the event mounted the podium to acknowledge all the legislative council present. He recognised the presence of the legislatives, members of the State Executive Council, House of Assembly and House of Representative members present, the chairman of the APC Party, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi and some Exco Members, the leadership of the congress men as well as The Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin LGA, Hon. Engr. Dr. Buraimoh Oluwaseyi Valentine, he described him as an energetic and dynamic personalty.

He further acknowledged the presence of The chairman of Oriade LCDA , Hon. Ramota Akinola Hassan, the Royal Fathers in attendance as well as CP. Abiodun Alabi of Lagos State ably represented, The Igbo, South-South and Arewa Community present at the event. He also expressed the need for recognition of stake holders , council members, party members and the Gentlemen of the press.

Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu expressed profound happiness to be identified with the people of Amuwo Odofin and Oriade and also the privilege given to Commission the Senator Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu (OON) Primary Health Care Centre. He Commended the Hon. Chairman of Amuwo Odofin, Engr. Dr. Valentine Oluwaseyi Buraimoh and Hon. Ramota Akinola Hassan for working together as a team and the people of the community are beneficiaries to this. The Governor further commended the Executive Chairman for a fulfilled promise in making sure that projects are well executed and completed, stating that this is clear demonstration of progressive governance.

The Governor, in company of his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and cabinet members, also carried out a first-hand assessment which includes the State Government’s ongoing projects and familiarised himself with the needs of residents in the community.

Sanwo-Olu described Amuwo-Odofin as “a strategic base” of assets critical to the actualisation of the economic potentials of the State. Apart from connecting Lagos to an international border, he said the council also showcased the success of the State Government’s inter modal transportation system.

Amuwo-Odofin is a major beneficiary of Sanwo-Olu administration’s infrastructural renewal and expansion programme, which cuts across various sectors, including transportation, road and education, among others. The State’s Blue Rail Line project, which will be completed by last quarter of this year, traverses Amuwo-Odofin. He recounted all the projects intended to be executed as he promises to give feedbacks of seething demands, expectations and complaints during an open interaction with the residents.
