Nigerians will decide President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s political future in 2027, according to NNPP National Chairman Agbo Major, amid widespread worries over the nation’s suffering.
Speaking, Agbo The current issues have been exacerbated by the Tinubu administration’s reluctance to take appropriate action in advance, despite several important decisions that could have long-term effects.
“I don’t think we should judge any government too soon,” he remarked. But Nigerians are aware that this government took over a country in turmoil. The hardship has been greater as a result of some policy decisions, especially the elimination of the fuel subsidy without sufficient cushioning measures.
However, there is also the claim that no prosperous country has ever achieved success without having to make difficult decisions, he continued. The timing and absence of protections, rather than the elimination of the subsidy itself, are the problems. Essential services like energy are subsidized in the majority of nations. Pain and suffering have been caused all over the country by its abrupt removal without providing a safe landing for residents.
With the words, “But we must also acknowledge that the policy has increased revenue to states and local governments, the question now is how those leaders are using the extra funds,” Agbo conceded that the elimination of subsidies had some good effects.
“So, does Tinubu deserve another term?” he asked, referring to Tinubu’s chances of winning a second term. Nigerians should respond to such question by expressing their feelings by 2027. If he does better, people might choose to give him another chance. The ballot will speak otherwise.
