PDP Advocates for Peace and Justice has criticized Governor Umo Eno’s assertions that he controls Akwa Ibom State’s political systems.
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) recently welcomed Eno, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The organization noted in a statement signed by Dr. Tom FredFish, the group’s chairman, that “the governor has chosen to waste energy on needless political grandstanding rather than addressing the pressing socio-economic challenges facing citizens at a time when Akwa Ibom people earnestly expect responsive and impactful leadership.”
The Senate President, Chief Godswill Akpabio, publicly acknowledged that Governor Umo Eno had been given full control of the Akwa Ibom State All Progressives Congress (APC) political apparatus.
Therefore, this raises the question of what other structure the governor is fighting for and when? His political journey lacks purpose, commitment, and clarity, which is further highlighted by such careless posturing.
“Governor Eno’s decision to defect to the APC was a drastic blunder—bleak, unsustainable, and motivated more by expediency than by principle. The reality of a man surrounded by odd pals who don’t share his vision or have any true faith in his leadership is shown by his current difficulties. However, the fact remains that his natural political home is not and cannot be the APC.
We strongly advise Governor Umo Eno to change his ways and rejoin the PDP while there is still hope. The goal of governance is selfless devotion, vision, and an unchanging dedication to the benefit of the people; it is not about unending political wrangling. Akwa Ibom deserves a leader who is determined, brave, and people-oriented rather than sidetracked by internal conflicts and small-scale rivalries.
