Former Aviation Minister and ambassador-designate Femi Fani-Kayode has disclosed a number of instances in which Nigeria had to step in to “save democracy” in other African nations.
In response to Nigeria’s involvement in the attempted coup in the Benin Republic on Sunday, Fani-Kayode was added to the list.
According to reports, military barracks where soldiers who had attempted a coup in Benin were regrouping were attacked by Nigerian Air Force fighter jets. In a statement on Sunday night, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu confirmed the military action.
