She said this in a recent podcast appearance, it was reported.

On the discussion, Cuppy said her decision was based on her previous experience with someone who she said was more interested in meeting her father than a real relationship with her.

She stressed that the experience often causes her to question the motives of some men who approach her.

“I can’t marry a Nigerian. You can not. The last guy I was dating was wanting to know when he could meet my dad. I didn’t even think they liked me. My dad isn’t concerned about who I marry. He just wants me married. That’s why I’m so happy for Temi and Eazi,” she said.

DJ Cuppy has spoken on her dating journey and how it has influenced her current choice of partner.

She was reported to have said this during a chat with ZeZe Millz, where Cuppy explained that she has met and dated different types of men over the years.

The 33-year-old has had relationships with men from various walks of life, including a model, a footballer and even a bus driver, she said.

Many of these connections she said she made through dating apps, adding she once paid about £400 or over ₦700,000, to join one of the platforms.

“Over time my mindset about relationships has changed, especially after my younger sister Temi Otedola got married to singer Mr Eazi, Cuppy said

She said she is no longer interested in complicated relationships and now wants a calm, simple partner who has a regular job and doesn’t use social media.

“I’ve dated all kinds of men but all I want now is a simple 9-5 man with no social media,” she said. I once dated a bus driver I met on a £400 dating app I paid to join.”

Her former relationships have often played out in the public eye. In 2022 she was briefly engaged to British boxer Ryan Taylor but the couple broke off the engagement. In the past, she has also been linked to music executive Asa Asika.
