The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna State has praised the state’s police for apprehending two bandits and rescuing nine kidnap victims.

Its Chairman, Rev. Joseph Hayab, presented the award in a statement in which he stated that CAN was overjoyed to learn of the development.

“The Kaduna State Chapter of CAN wishes to congratulate the police on a job well done.”

“This is what Kaduna residents and citizens have wished for and prayed for.” “We hope that this pace will be maintained until criminals in our state are defeated,” he said.

According to him, the development is positive and encouraging, especially given that it occurred at the start of a new year.

“We believe that a sustained effort like this will quickly bring others who are still in captivity home,” he added.

Rev. Hayab stated that bandits had already toyed with the people of Kaduna State’s joy and peace, and that they should not be given any more opportunities to torment innocent citizens in the New Year.

He also stated that the CAN will continue to pray for and support security personnel, as well as telling them the truth if they fail to perform their duties.

“CAN is urging all citizens to share any information that might be useful to security agencies.

“We must always remind ourselves that security is everyone’s concern,” he said.

On January 1, police in Kaduna announced that they had killed a bandit and arrested two of his associates in Sabon Birni Village in the state’s Igabi Local Government Area.

They also announced the rescue of nine people who had been kidnapped.
