After gunmen purportedly carried out another deadly attack in the early hours of Monday, August 11, tension has descended upon the Benue State hamlet of Yelwata.
According to reports, the local ladies staged a demonstration in response to the fresh assault, blocking roads and calling for the soldiers stationed in the region to return to their barracks.

According to one of the demonstrators, who was quoted by the Daily Post, “They should take us to Makurdi because the government cannot protect us.”
