The All Progressives Congress (APC) officials loyal to Kano State governor Abdullahi Ganduje were fired by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court on Tuesday.
The court, presided over by Justice Hamza Muazu, accepted all of the Senator Ibrahim Shekarau faction’s requests, based on the fact that the Ganduje-led group failed to hold ward and local government congresses.
According to sources, Abdullahi Abbas leads the Ganduje-led side, while Ahmadu Haruna Zago leads the Shekarau faction.
The outcome of the parallel congress, which generated about 19,000 candidates loyal to Senator Shekarau, was upheld by the court.

Any other congresses organized outside of the one led by Prince Abdullahi Abbas were previously deemed illegal by Governor Ganduje.
The G-7 group led by Shekarau, who had fronted parallel leadership under the chairperson of Haruna Ahmadu Danzago, contested Ganduje’s claim that the party had ended with the nomination of candidates for the congresses under a consensual arrangement.
The candidates nominated by Shekarau’s side were aware of the results of the other congresses and attempted to have the procedure that produced them annulled outright.

The applicants, led by Muntaka Bala Sulyman and others, had filed complaints against the APC, Governor of Yobe State and Chairman of the APC Extraordinary Caretaker Committee, Mai Mala Buni, the party’s National Secretary, and John Akpanudoedehe, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), among the nine defendants.
