Six females and a sixteen-year-old boy were kidnapped from Gidan-Bijimi in Kawu ward, Bwari Area Council, Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
Gidan-Bijimi and Marke village share a boundary close to the Kaduna State border, according to sources.
Suleiman Shuaibu, a Kawu resident, verified the occurrence early on Thursday.
He claimed that around 9:47 p.m., armed robbers with AK-47 rifles broke into two homes in the neighborhood, firing intermittently and kidnapping six young girls and a sixteen-year-old male.
He pointed out that the incident caused havoc in the community.
He continued by saying that some vigilantes tried to engage the assailants but were overpowered by the bandits’ superior weaponry.
The girls that were kidnapped are between the ages of 17 and 23, according to Shuaibu.
“The Gidan-Bijimi community called at approximately 9:53 p.m. to report that six young girls had been kidnapped by bandits who had invaded the village; sadly, my cousin sister was one of the victims,” he stated.
Even though communication with the kidnappers has not yet been established, he said that several residents were compelled to leave their homes following the incident.
