The Nigerian Army troops involved in “Operation Hadin Kai” have defeated a large number of Boko Haram members in Borno State’s Morbbar Local Government Area. They have also retrieved various weapons and ammunition and stopped an ambush attempt on Monday.
Targeted by the attack on Monday were soldiers from Sector 3’s 145 Battalion, Damasak.
Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency specialist and security analyst, believes that the insurgents set off an IED before attacking the soldiers.
The soldiers’ anti-ambush exercises allowed them to outflank the assailants and instantly neutralize a large number of them.
Following their exploitation of the area, the soldiers found two 36 hand grenades, one PKT automatic anti-aircraft machine gun, one AK-47 rifle, four AK-47 magazines, and a significant amount of 7.62mm ammo.

He added, “A Motorola battery, a power bank, a motorcycle, a rifle butt, twelve blankets, a motorcycle pump, a number of wires, and other general items were among the other items recovered.”
Separately, in the Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State, soldiers from the 233 Battalion and members of Sector 2’s Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) clashed with rebels at Sassawa village.
The source claimed that troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, and twenty-three rounds of 7.62mm ammunition after two rebels were killed in the conflict.
In order to fulfill the objectives of Operation Hadin Kai and to deny the insurgents their freedom of movement, the source claims that forces have maintained aggressive postures and offensive actions.
