There have been rumors of a purported plot to remove Vice President Kashim Shettima from President Tinubu’s running mate list.

In June, when the rumors were at their height, presidential spokeswoman Bayo Onanuga called the claim a “non-issue,” saying that President Tinubu will select his running partner only after accepting the nomination of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nonetheless, Baba-Ahmed, who left the Tinubu administration approximately three months ago, stated on Wednesday’s episode of Politics Today on Channels Television that if the rumor was genuinely a “non-issue,” the President ought to have personally refuted it.

“I’d really like to know what causes all of these rumors about Shettima being dropped. To be honest, I believe the President ought to have taken action long ago,” Baba-Ahmed remarked.
