Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president, has said that Nigeria may undergo a revolution as a result of the alleged violations of human rights that are pushing its citizens to the brink.
Atiku addressed Thursday night during his solidarity visit to Nasir El-rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, who had a confrontation with security personnel at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday after traveling from Cairo, Egypt.
As you may remember, the former governor was arrested at the airport after members of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, confiscated his international passport.
The manner Nigerians at the airport protested the detention must have taught the authorities a lesson, Atiku stated during the visit.
It was individuals that opposed the arrest on their own, therefore I hope they will take note of what they witnessed at the airport,” he remarked.
What they fail to realize is that a revolution may break out in our nation if people refuse to tolerate the infringement of their human rights.
“It was completely inappropriate what transpired at the airport.”
