The dismembered remains of a yet-to-be-identified lady have been found in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory.
The corpse, which was found by a river in the community on Monday, was said to have been packed in two sacks.
According to residents, the stench from the corpse drew attention to it.
A resident, who gave his name as Shehu, said the corpse was found alongside dead animals.

He said, “This morning (Monday), we started perceiving foul odour near the river. When we got there, we found two bags. The bags had bloodstains. When we checked, we saw human parts cut into pieces. There was also a dead animal alongside the corpse. They must have dumped the corpse there and we are suspecting ritualists.  This is because the head was not there and the corpse was that of a lady.”

Another resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the body might have been dropped by the riverside by suspected ritual killers overnight.

He said, “We did not perceive this kind of odour yesterday. I think it must have been dropped here overnight and from the look of this, it seems she was killed by some ritual killers. The situation is causing panic in the area.”
