Nenadi Usman, the Labour Party’s Interim National Chairperson, says that Peter Obi, the party’s candidate for president in 2023, will not be able to come back to the party.

Usman said this on Wednesday during an interview on Arise Television’s “Prime Time.”

She said that once they close the registration 21 days before the primaries and send in the e-register, no one can register from the back door.

“It will be too late for Peter Obi to return to the Labour Party because, according to the Electoral Act, we will close the register at certain times. You can’t come when that is done.

“Obi really helped the party reach new heights in 2023. No one else can match the speed and power of that like he did.

“He talked me into joining the Labour Party. “And not just me, but a lot of other people who are in the Labour Party today because we believe in fairness and equality,” she said.
