Sambo said this on Monday while he featured on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’.

He was reacting to the primary elections recently held in the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Signs surrounding Atiku’s running mate suggest he will most likely pick the South-East. For years, his political base in the South has been the South-East.

“In 2019 he picked Peter Obi and in 2023 he picked Okowa. His coming to the South-East could be to weaken the influence of Peter Obi in the region,” he said.

“Remember he ADC declared Atiku its presidential candidate after he defeated former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
