By Jerome ERAMHO

A very respected and distinguished son of Afenmai – Edo State and a renowned Security Consultant of international repute, Dr. Sunnie ALEGHE has joined other leaders and critical stakeholders within and outside Edo State to congratulate all the Edo PDP candidates on their final confirmation as authentic candidates of the party for the forthcoming 2023 General Elections by issued Certificate of Return by the NWC of the party.

While expressing his joy over their confirmation as the duly elected candidates of the party, he enjoined them to be magnanimous in victory by reaching out to their co-contenders and ensure that the party work as a family for the interest of the party. This was contained in a statement released by his Media Aide yesterday in Lagos:

‘’On behalf of myself and family, I wish to express my heartfelt congratulations to all the Edo PDP Candidates on the receipt of their Certificate of Return as the duly elected Edo PDP Candidates for the 2023 polls.

To us who are close watchers or in one way or the other key stakeholders in the politics of our dear Edo State, it gives me joy that finally the PDP NWC has been able to settle and do the needful in total compliance with all relevant laws, necessary requirements including legal, political and that of the INEC. Again, the party in the State is doing well and OBASEKI – SHAIBU Govt has been focus, determined and committed in delivery of dividends of democracy to the Edo people despite the distractions’’.

‘’As a leader, my advice to all the successful candidates is to be magnanimous in victory by reaching out to their co – contenders. It’s all about leadership and I know that there is no aggrieved Edo PDP member or leader who will not want to join to end the misrule of the APC Government today.

The candidates have work to do, they must show they can lead by reaching out and am sure the Edo PDP will come out strong at the end and will be victorious at the poll. Most of the PDP candidates are people the Edo masses can trust for productive, responsive and people – oriented leadership. They have the capacity and qualities the people would consider for election of their leaders in the forthcoming election, he added.

Dr. Sunnie Aleghe also appeal to all those that could not secure the party’s tickets to be magnanimous in defeat by accepting to work for the collective interest of the party. In his words:

”Yes, politics is about interest but we must remind our brothers and friends that fighting at the detriment of a collective interest must be discouraged at all cost especially now that PDP is back to power in Edo State after 12 years in opposition’’
