Following the continuous demonstration calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, there was a traffic jam in parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday morning.
Even though security guards were positioned in key locations, major roads in the nation’s capital were largely closed.
Commuters were observed stranded on the popular Kugbo-Nyanya section of the Abuja-Keffi expressway, which came to a standstill.
Drivers from the Kugbo/Nyanya axis who are traveling into the FCT report slow traffic, with many roads purportedly blocked by parked cars and protest-related activities.
The demonstrators, who intended to march to the Aso Rock Villa to call for Kanu’s release from the Department of State Services’ (DSS) custody, were dispersed by police.
