For the alleged murder of two police officers, the Lagos State Government re-arraigned convicted millionaire kidnapper Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, also known as Evans, before the Lagos High Court in Ikeja on Monday.
Evans and Joseph Emeka, his co-defendant, were charged with five counts of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and murder.
After reading the allegations to them in front of Justice A.O. Ogala, both defendants entered not guilty pleas.
Evans is on trial in five different criminal counts including kidnapping and murder. Evans acquired renown for his high-profile kidnapping operations.
In two of those cases, he has already been found guilty.
Only a few days have passed after President Bola Tinubu gave some convicted criminals nationwide presidential clemency, and now they are being re-arraigned.
