According to political economist Prof. Pat Utomi, candidates above 70 shouldn’t run for governor or president.
In response to queries during an interview on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” show on Thursday, Professor Utomi made this claim.
He was discussing his plans to run for Nigerian public office.
“I’m adamant that I will tell the Nigerian people that no one above 70 should run for any administrative office, including president or governor.
Yes, some members of the legislature may continue to serve until they are 75 or even nearly 80 years old. However, the Nigerian people must stop allowing the presidency to house those in need of medical care.
He stated, “Doing so is at the great expense of the Nigerian taxpayer, who is not getting the quality of services they should get from these public office holders.”
