All roads lead to the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Center’s indoor sports hall, where the top eight teams in the nation will compete for the 2025 championship. The Hoopers are hoping to prolong their supremacy in Nigerian basketball and maintain their winning streak going into the game.

The KingsMen, as they are affectionately known, will play Hoops & Read in the opening day headlining match, according to Sunday’s technical meeting. Due to multiple encounters in recent seasons, both parties are familiar with one another. But the Hoopers have dominated their last three meetings, including a 67-58 triumph in the Inter-Group Phase earlier this year.

Fans are already looking forward to fireworks between two of the league’s most entertaining teams before today’s game begins at 4 p.m.

The Port Harcourt team, who defeated Hoops & Read 71-54 in the championship game last year to win their sixth league title, would be hoping to repeat their achievements. Additionally, the KingsMen won all 12 games from the conference stage to the postseason, finishing the 2024 season with a perfect record.
