According to BBC Sport, Real Madrid is’monitoring’ Liverpool defender and England international Joe Gomez.
Gomez has fallen out of favor with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, who has started both Joel Matip and newcomer Ibrahima Konate ahead of him. This is due in large part to Gomez’s inability to stay healthy and available after missing the majority of last season.
The 24-year-current old’s Liverpool contract is set to expire in over three years. There is no indication that Real Madrid is interested in pursuing a transfer with the Merseyside club.
According to BBC Sport, while Real Madrid is interested in signing Gomez and a centerback, the club believes it will be impossible to do so in the January transfer window. The club has also been linked with a summer transfer for Chelsea defender Antonio Rüdiger, who will become a free agent if he is not re-signed by the end of 2022.
