Former Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara state’s ardent supporter, Alhaji Aminu Danbuba, has revealed that if he does not win the national chairmanship of the All Progressives Congress, APC, he will defect to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The lawmaker told reporters in Gusau, the state capital, that he would not be surprised if former Governor Abdulaziz Yari left the APC.
Former Governor Yari, he claims, has not made his intentions clear to his supporters, despite all indications to the contrary.
“He is our political leader, and we must follow him to whichever party he joins,” he continued.
According to the politician, the former Governor already has a dispute with the party’s national headquarters over the imposition of leadership in the state chapter.
He said the former Governor would not accept defeat over his faction’s loss at the Federal High Court in Gusau, the state capital.
Danbuba, on the other hand, praised former Governor Yari’s fortitude in coming to court, noting that he did so to safeguard democracy in the state.
Danbuba stated that if everyone remained silent on the question of democracy, the country’s system would fail.
